Give me a few minutes to tell you how I see all of our futures. Before I disseminate my thoughts it would be good if you opened your minds a little. If time were a road, the difference between 1950 and 2025 equals a paved super highway back then to a rutted and washed out country road now. It doesn’t matter if you think that we back then were less than human or had misconceptions about life you have no blasted idea of the changes that have taken place and sex seems to be the catalyst. Aside from the mockery directed toward simple biology and religion of the Christian variety this time we are in is a wasteland of broken sensibilities and broken hearts. Why are we here now? What in the heck happened between 1950 and 2025?
I mention sex and that word used to indicate two types of our species, male and female. There were homosexuals but they didn’t flaunt their rear ends in a parade in San Francisco. They do now and flaunt much more to the point of obscene. Obscene is the prefect word for what sex has turned into because the honor and the sacredness of taking chances when a new life was concerned became so easy.
The “pill” got this started and boys and girls went wild. Then, due to the inconvenience of being pregnant at, say, seventeen, abortion got a start with all the gnashing of teeth over back alley abortions with a coat hanger. The simple act of abstinence was thrown out the window. Sure, it was difficult but we had a conscience back then. Keep the zipper closed and the female body modest due to sexual attraction but that got taken out in part by Hollywood and rather obscene scenes in movies, plus the pill, plus abortion and, of all things, porn. Long gone was a fleeting kiss and a promise to see each other again. No, it was all the way and we’ll see what happens if you get knocked up. Nice phrase that, knocked up. It used to be a married lady and gentleman who loved each other and wanted a family. That was the only good reason to have sex and it followed religious teaching to the letter.
Where are we now? All you need do is to look around. What used to be an organized and Christian society is now bedlam and a paganized ritual. I use these terms not as a cudgel but as a moment in time. Not a single individual I ever knew would have believed back then how far we have fallen. One might think we are possessed by the devil. Indeed, we may very well be.
