Relative Calm

by tcr · June 3, 2025

The world is in a state of relative calm now. If we take away the Russian attempt to kidnap Ukraine what we end up with is a state of existence in our world lacking war. How the Ukraine war ends up is anyone’s guess.

The Middle East is another matter as that geographic location has always been a flash point. It might not be too much of a stretch to say that war began there in the mists of time. Slavery also began there and nation against nation is the hallmark of the Middle East. Certainly, the Bible tells us that the world will end there and you can take that for what you think it’s worth. Personally, I take the Bible with great worth but, then again, I am an old codger probably suffering from senility and a warped sense of history in comparison to today’s standards of historical knowledge.

Many decades ago I got interested in biblical prophecy having read the book of Matthew, chapter twenty-four and Revelations, the last book of the Bible, and did a term paper on Revelations. If a person can understand the symbolism of Revelations one can deduce that our times seem to be the times recorded in that book. In fact, it reads like a roadmap of our times in the present, as does Matthew 24.

I write this as a cautionary tale on our times which seem to lead a lot of people to consternation and wondering what is coming next. The Bible doesn’t give dates certain it simply tells us what to watch for. One could say that all time is like our time and be partially correct, however, when times and prophecy become so concisely linked it gives one pause to ruminate. Rumination is what this article is. Just an reason to open one’s eyes to a thing not considered when sipping a latte at Starbucks. Is the “peacemaker’s” time at hand?
