-Belief-

For a moment, let us disregard the word, “belief,” as in what some term the “concept” of God. God as the Supreme Being, the Creator of all, the Zenith and Nadir, the beginning and the end. He who forms the direction of all things. Order, chaos (so called), perfection (the concept and truth). Do you believe? Do you disregard? Is God a myth, a form of pablum for the ignorant? A “cause celeb” for certain stratas of society?

To begin, it is the visual of what we perceive that forms our opinions. Our perception of all things from within and without our personal mind. Looking from the surface of our planet out into – into what? Space? Unknown walls of which we are not aware? Boundaries we cannot see. An end to the blackness not found nor perceived by us. Another “universe?” We think we know much but how much we know depends on our minds or what others tell us exists. The “experts.” What do experts of science work with? Only what they can see through developed means of enhancement. Or, only what they are permitted to see given our penchant for self-destruction?

All are good questions to ask but these questions are from a simple mind. A mind that freely admits a lack of understanding all that exists, seen and unseen. Seen is what we speak of and unseen is what we are ignorant of. Ignorance should be our stance in the beginning when considering what we think we know. Is it, then, this ignorance that allowed a “God” concept way back in the darkness of history? A way to consider what we didn’t understand? Or, was it a revelation given us by that being we call God.

History says the latter. Science is how we try to understand all that we see or remains unseen. Faith is the structure of infinite permanence while science allows for destruction. Nuclear weapons are science at its worst. Creation is the zenith of all we wonder about. Who are we?
