What a diabolical place is this world in this season of mankind! If you enjoy it that is your look out. If you half enjoy it, which half? If you look at it as a sad place full of detached people chasing after this and that then you see it with mature eyes. The “chase” is what this world seems to be about. Chasing what is what boggles the mind. Fame, glory, money, rock and roll shenanigans? Then again, there are those who look into the night sky and wonder what is out there that they will never know about. A rather pensive and muted attitude about both themselves and where exactly they are with so much knowledge of other things than rock and roll that they might very well be considered misfits. Categories apply to humans as well as department stores.
Me? Well, I spent four years on the oceans and at war. The life on the oceans alone changes the mind about most things. I am one of that category that gazes in wonder at the night sky. I don’t shy away from a fight or disagreement but I do try to smooth over situations that might lead to fisticuffs. In fact, I rather shy away from this world also as there is nothing in this world that I find attractive. When I say I am old it is merely because it took this long to understand that there is more to life than what the world shows us or offers up to us to go chase.
I write this this morning after considering where this should go that would be of interest to those who star gaze. That look outside this planet for meaning for themselves. It would seem that this might be the reason we have a night sky to begin with. To show us there is much, much more to ourselves than what this world of mankind is prepared to understand, Tattoos, drugs, protesting, it is all a waste of energy and that energy should be directed toward knowledge of why we are here in the first place. I found that, once that search is begun, depression and anxiety wane. War taught me how fragile we are after pulling corpses from the sea. I don’t come at this light hearted, I come at this seasoned, not depressed. I come at this with a smile because I found that there is more than just being abrasive. That is the search I have been on since after I left the service and war. It’s been a long but rewarding journey and one that I believe others may be ready for. I guess we’ll see about that here because I have been wrong before.
